This clump-forming warm season switch grass is noted for its outstanding red color in fall. It has an upright habit and reaches 4-5 feet with its plumes. It is very adaptable to many different conditions, but thrives in moist, well-drained soils. It provides ideal winter shelter and food for birds. Cut back late winter before new growth appears.
